Projekt je pokrenut 2018. godine kada se krenulo s izradom tehničke dokumentacije. Građevinska dozvola je ishođena u lipnju ove godine, nakon čega je proveden postupak javne nabave za izvođača radova. Najpovoljniji ponuđač bila je tvrtka Energoprojekt 88 d.o.o. iz Zagreba, koja je na natječaju ponudila iznos 2.168.283,25 kuna bez PDV-a, odnosno 2.710.354,06 kuna s PDV-om, te je s njom tvrtka Vodovodom i kanalizacijom potpisala ugovor za izvedbu radova. Ugovorni rok za dovršetak radova je, kao što je već rečeno, kraj ove godine.

Radi se o izuzetno važnom projektu za investitore u poduzetničkoj zoni jer se njime rješava problem odvodnje otpadnih voda. Ovaj cjevovod, osim što će investitorima smanjiti troškove poslovanja, nekima je uvjet da bi dobili uporabnu dozvolu za svoje projekte te ih stavili u funkciju.
