Napustio nas je maestro Josip Magdić. Naš Ogulinac, poznati hrvatski skladatelj, dirigent, glazbenik i glazbeni pedagog.
Rođen u Ogulinu 1937. godine, da bi ga životni putevi odveli u Zagreb, Ljubljanu, Bjelovar, Sarajevo i na kraju, ponovno u Zagreb, gdje je njegov život i bogati glazbeni put, i završio. Joško, kako sam ga zvao, bio je iznimna osoba. Vispren, iznimno duhovit, druželjubiv. U Ogulinu je pohađao Gimnziju, u Zagrebu Višu pedagošku školu, u Ljubljeni je završio Akademiju za glazbu i postao je i član Slovenskog društva skladatelja. Životni put vodi ga u Bjelovar gdje je direktor glazbne škole a onda 1970. odlazi u Sarajevo.
Od tada je predavač teorijskih predmeta na Muzičkoj akademiji u Sarajevu te od 1972. docent, kada utemeljuje i vodi ansambl za suvremenu glazbu MOMUS (Moderna muzika Sarajevo). 1977. pokreće grupu MASMANTRA koju spaja s elektroakustičkom radionicom (EAR) pri udruženju skladatelja. 1985. postaje redovitim profesorom u Sarajevu, a deset godina kasnije i na Muzičkoj akademiji u Zagrebu gdje je aktivan do odlaska u mirovinu 2007. Napisao je oko tri stotine djela za najrazličitije sastave. Često je nastupao solistički, izvodeći vlastita djela na orguljskim koncertnim turnejama diljem Europe. U Sarajevu je ostao i u vrijeme najtežih ratnih događanja nastupajući vrlo angažirano u okviru Hrvatskog kulturnog društva Napredak. U Zagreb se vratio krajem 1994.
Za boravka u Srajevu, svake godine dolazio je ljeti u Ogulin za koji je bio iznimno vezan. I ako sam mlađi od Joška, često smo se znali, preko zajedničkih prijatelja, ugodno družiti. Ja u Ogulinu a on u Sarajevu, zapisivali smo u male notesiće stare ogulinske riječi i izraze, i onda se natjecali, tko bolje zna što neka stara riječ znači. Bilo je i svađe i smijeha.
Joško je autor 242 opusa koji su stvoreni za najrazličitije ansamble od solističke, komorne, simfonijske, vokalno-instrumentalne pa do dječje, zborske, scenske, elektroničke, filmske i multimedijalne glazbe, kao i instalacija; izvode se kod nas i u svijetu. Član je Društva slovenskih skladateljev od 1964., Udruženja kompozitora BiH od 1970., a Hrvatskog društva skladatelja od 1995. – Za svoje stvaralaštvo primio je mnoge nagrade i priznanja. Autor je glazbe za himnu Ogulina – „Zvone zvona Sv. Križa“, na tekst prof. Marije Magdić.
Ispraćaj Josipa Magdića, biti će 3. prosinca na zagrebačkom groblju Mirogoj.
