DAN OPĆINE TOUNJ i DAN ŽUPE SV. IVAN KRSTITELJ
Tounj sutra i u subotu, slavi Dan općine i Župe, nizom manifestacija, a sve će biti u znaku velike obljetnice školstva u ovom mjestu – čak 250 godina o čemu piše radio Mrežnica.
Priča o tounjskoj školi seže u 1773. godinu kad je osnovana pučka škola zbog interesa Vojne krajine i Habsburgovaca.Mali Tounjci učili su pisati, čitati, potom pravopis, djevojčice su učile ručni rad, a nastava je bila na njemačkom i hrvatskom jeziku.
Od 1868. godine odvijala se samo na hrvatskom, a već 1830. godine Tounj je imao četverogodišnje školovanje, potom šestogodišnje 1937. i osmogodišnje 1955. god.
Danas je tounjska škola područna škola koja spada pod OŠ Josipdol.
Zanimljivo je da je samo dvije godine od ustrojavanja škole Tounj dobio svoj poznati most – dvokatni kameni most preko rijeke Tounjčice s tri otvora dug 45, visok 13 i širok 9 metara.

LJUBA kod crkve Sv. Ivan Krsitelja uveličati će muzička grupa ˝Carismo˝ Ogulin, a nakon toga gošća večeri biti će estradna zvijezda MINEA.
