Godine 1981. na inicijativu nekolicine kulturnih djelatnika i folklornih entuzijasta, osnovano je kulturno umjetničko društvo „Ogulin“. Osnivanjem Društva, u Ogulinu se stvorilo žarište kulturnih zbivanja vezanih prije svega uz njegovanje tradicijske kulture ogulinskog kraja ali i cijele Hrvatske.
Društvo 1991. godine mijenja ime u kulturno umjetničko društvo „Klek“ a u njemu je djelovalo preko 1000 članova - od onih najmlađih pa do onih kojd ni teret godina ne odvaja od folklora. Naš KUD postao je pravi brand među hrvatskim folklorašima. Svuda rado vođeni i dočekivani, publici uvijek pružaju nezaboravan doživljaj.
Sudjelovali su na mnogima smotrama folklora širom Hrvatske i na festivalima diljem svijeta.
Posebno pamte susret sa svetim ocem Ivanom Pavlom II, kojemu su članovi Društva za audijenciju u Rimu 2000. godine otpjevali - Zdravo djevo kraljice Hrvata.
Zadnje nastupe imali su na velikom međunarodnom festivalu folklora u Bilaystoku u, Poljskoj. Upravo tamo su pred 9 godina proglašeni najboljim ansamblom i instrumentalnim sastavom Festivala.
Vokalni ansambl KUD-a Klek, posebna je priča. To je jedan od najcjenjenijih ansambala na području RH, koji obrađuje i izvodi izvorne pučke napjeve. Njihove izvedbe pod ravnanjem etnomuzikologa dr. Sc. Joška Čaleter, ostavlja bez daha. Stvarno ih treba slušati.
Društvo je za uspješan rad primilo niz priznanja od kojih su među važnijima priznanje Karlovačke županije KUD-u Klek kao najboljem društvu Županije, te priznanje Grada Ogulina za izniman doprinos očuvanju trasdicijske kulture ogulinskog kraja i Lijepe naše. Prošle godine u Dugom Selu, na 23. susretu hrvatskih tamburaških orkestara isastava, tamburaški sastav KUD-a Klek, osvojio je prvo mjesto u kategoriji folklornih sastava, te su ukupni pobjednici 23. Susreta hrvatskih tamburaških orkestara i sastava.
